Battelfield vietnam was my favorite one to play,
Boats, planes, Helicopters.
does the battlefield2 have Helicopters in it ?
I was hell in the sky with the helicopter.
if the new one does have them , I am sure I will buy it too.

That's pretty bad considering how widespread the GF4 are, and looking at valve's hardware survey, they are missing a lot of potential customers.
NVidia GeForce4 MX Series 99,358 8.47 % ########
NVidia GeForce FX 5200 Series 97,734 8.34 % ########
Unknown 84,325 7.19 % #######
NVidia GeForce4 Series 72,423 6.18 % ######
ATI Radeon 9200 Series 58,563 4.99 % #####
NVidia GeForce2 MX Series 46,714 3.98 % ####
NVidia GeForce FX 5600 Series 34,758 2.96 %
and this is just one section of cards i noticed weren't listed.

I bought this game tonight.
finaly got it installed and played a quick single player game, created my own server for lan.
so I can fly the helicopters.
all I can say is wow. this game is so impressive.
have to admit the detail in the helicopters is alot better and a little better for flying.
I am only a helicopter pilot, I can not fly a air plane to take anything out other than myself.
after doing a few adjustments on the mouse sinsitivity and a few other adjustments for mouse control, I had the handling of the helicopter back to normal.
I was able to follow the train tacks and fly under a low bridge with out crashing going about as fast as it could go.
the aiming is a little different than in battelfield vietnam.
this is one game , I do not regret buying, well worth the bucks.
I wished I was not on 56k.

Yep ripper i am soooo addicted, spent about 8 hrs on the weekend playing it, got a global ranking of 4500 now, im up to 12000 in the world LOL. I havent played the single player, only the multiplayer and unfortunatly you need broadband to play online, this game chews the bandwidth at about 50-60MB per hour.
cheers :) :)

I am having one problem.
I was playing single player for a while. had to leave , went to the next room to spend soem time with the kids.
came back to the pc, and found it had rebooted, while the game was on.
now, within 5 to 10 min of playing a single player game it stops and closes out.
I did not pay too much attention to system reqrirements.
I have a G-force FX 5600 video card.
the game requires a G-force FX5700 or greater for this game.
maybe thats why it keeps shutting down on me ?

ripper do you know the 1.01 patch was recalled due to a memory leak?
http://www.eagames.com/official/battlefield/battlefield2/us/editorial.jsp?src=communityupdate_070805
First off, a HUGE thanks to all of you who emailed me in regards to the memory leak found in the update we released earlier this week (v1.01). Your emails found their way to our production team and they?re in the process of evaluating what needs to be done in order to get this fixed. In the meantime, and since the 1.01 update is causing memory leakage on some systems, we recommend that you reinstall the game and NOT the v1.01 update we released earlier this week.

yes, I did see this info.
I did not install any updates. lol. it was hard for me to belive that put out a update that was bad.
guess that stuff happens. ???
I did find a solution to play this game with my g-force fx 500 video card.
I set all the video settings to low, and I think I set the refresh rate at 70 hz instead of 75 hz.
now the game is playing good, and does not shut down.
I do like the way it plays. I wished I had high speed internet.
I think I will ask my friend if I can hook up a wireless net work system from his house to mine, just for playing on line. or try to figure something out.
I am not playing very good , guess not knowing the new maps and where everything is makes a difference. and this new game, the enemy single player game, they are smarter. I was taking out alot of the guys and keeping our flag from being captured. and I heard foot steps comming up behind me. it was a enemy with his knife pulled trying to cut me up. I may of gotten a little cut , but I was able to walk out, he took a long nap.
I have not found out how to play this game in a single player lan game, that is coop ?
I think that this one does not have coop play ?
that was one good feature in battlefield vietnam that was fun to play.
