I just watched 2001 a space odyssey which is a classic film and still looks good today but as i think anyone who has watched the film must say to themselves what the **** was it all about. The only thing i can think is that the slabs are like the opening to the next step of man kind..............
I thought it was really cool but made by a bunch of "Stoners" as it seems a bit over the top and metaphoric.
2001 A space Odysee was a film By Stanley Kubric. Some of his other fims include A Clockwork Orange, The Shining and Eyes Wide Shut. He also Started out on AI (Artificial Intelligence) which was finished by Steven Speiberg. His films always seem to me to be " out there" leaving more questions than answers. This doesn't detract from truly inovative movie making. 2010 with Roy Shieder was sloo..ow but ultimately interesting. Try this sequel if you have time.

speaking of clockwork orange
i was looking @ imdb the other day and didnt realize that the guy who played the lead: Alex, was Malcolm McDowell; who now, or atleast for the last 5-10 years in other movies / tv that i have seen him in ("Fantasy Island", "Lexx: The Dark Zone", Star Trek: Generations, Tank Girl, and Star Trek: Generations) and ever put that two of them together; yea, there is almost a 30 year difference in clockwork orange on the other movies - but still...
and yes, sadly Stanley Kubrick did pass away soon after delivering the final edit of eyes wide shut in 1999
Here's the dummy coming out again, I just can't seem to play it smart... anyway "
Do you work for IMDB?? IMDB stands for ... . The answer must be no if I don't even know what it is!!
Malcolm McDowell, sort of kept an eye on him over the years... did you ever see Caligula?

internet movie database
and nope i dont work for them, im wouldnt think that they have many ppl who do the work for them other than a small administrative office, couple of techs, and some PR ppl; as its just a database that is cross-referenced for movies, names of actors, names of directors, etc; they have forums and a paid "more detailed pro" service (that i have never used); but considering its pretty much the standard for cross-referencing movies, tv, (and now video game actors [mainly voice overs]); and ironically i would think that they made their money from 1. pro users 2. ads 3. promotion pictures for actors(actresses) since they charge $35 for that... but again, its pretty much the standard

there is always a fun game to use imdb for
choose a movie or an actor/actress
then have the ppl guess the person's height
most pseudo-famous actors/actresses are listed
and choose next actor/actress by other related actor/actress
its pretty fun, especially when you have a lot of ppl guessing
keep score and see who knows their actor/actress
its like that game 'scene it' but more 'who are they'
then you can also do it w/ age
