one of the biggest challenges I'm finding is to resize for web use without losing MASSIVE amounts of quality.

DROOOLZ! i've had my eyes on that for a while now. congrats on the new camera.
i've been trying to convince my father-in-law to get this one,
but he's a nikon guy so he wants the d70.

NOOOOOO!!!!
NOOOO don't buy the D70!!! it honest to god feels like an empty pop can in your hand. The af is laggy(well.....comparing to the 20D anyway)

20 d's af is LIGHTNING fast and 9 point(selectable or auto) the metering is bang on.....wow I could go on and on. I was originally looking at a D70, but in the end shelled out the $$$$ for this baby.

i tried to tell the old guy, but there's no changing his mind.
this was his reply:
it may be better but the nikon d2x is better than the 20d at 12mp and $5000 so where do we stop.dont forget lens prices

megapixel isn't the only hill to climb.

the AF on the 5k nikon doesn't hold a candle.

and I'll take my canon glass ANYDAY! From past experience their mid level glass is as good as some of the nikon pro glass.

hey man once you pick a company to go with, you get really entrenched. I can understand your fathers point of view, just pass along my condolences:D:D:D:D:D:LOL

Tell him to get his butt shooting for the upcoming POTM contest for april on the new board.... i'll let the cat out of the bag here and tell ya that the subject is gonna be nature! GET SHOOTING!

wow. dug this up from the past. I can't believe i've had her almost 3 years now.
i remember being SO nervous about spending that much $ on a camera. Needless to say she's paid for herself a few times over now. Looking back at some of my early stuff I'm not sure why I ever thought I'd get good. I guess with a little dedication, luck and effort anything can happen. :)
