I'm a little behind the times at the moment, I haven't done much gaming lately, so I'm still kinda playing Need For Speed Underground 2...

how do u kill the big boss monster ?
you have to let alastor hurt you while standing on the circles. this will force a stone giant to come to attack him. distract alastor to keep him from attacking the giant. when the giant hits alastor, he's stunned and vulnerable.
BLOW HIM AWAY!!!!

eh?
well i finally got to the top of the tower (base of the combine / dr badguy)
and dr badguy (cant remember his name) used the portal to go [wherever] and im about to follow him
from what the characters had been saying, i assumed it was an alien planet (like in the original when you go to Zen) but this time from where the combine had come from

star wars knights of the old republic (the first one) is owning my entire vacation as of now. after reading 5 pages of "favorite games ever" on neowin forums i decided i just had to try this one. since it's basically a budget title now, and fully patched, i figured what the hell.
10 hours into it i'm finally off taris, the first planet (of MANY) and it's simply amazing. i had a hard time with the controls at first, but now they seem so logical i wouldn't change a thing.
really is an amazing game if you haven't played it. good timing for me too, since kotor 2 is due first part of next year!!!

Just started Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, seem quite good, something about it though, i don't seem to be enjoying it as much as Sands of Time, will keep going.

I'll have to take back that comment about POP2, after getting back used to the style of play, it's just as good as SOT.
Also just started Riddick on Lotho's recommendation, seems to be another good one
I'm getting Riddick pretty soon, not long finished HL2 and POP2, need something good to go on to. From the screenies it looks like a winner :)

I got up to the bit in Riddick where you meet the pope guy and he messes with your eyes and havn't played since.
I dusted off the cube the other day and borrowed metroid prime, this is such an addictive game, i've missed the console exclusives.
also...has anyone installed the silent hill 4 demo, this is so not the type of game i'd usually play but thought i'd give it a shot, seems pretty good but the controls are ridiculous.

well, it was a dam good thing i took a week off work for vacation, since KOTOR took about 36 of those hours away from me.
finished as light side, and hopefully before KOTOR 2 is out for PC, i'll finish as a dark side, but i'm whipped for now.
RIDDICK up next (last game in my collection.)

to rehash an old thread out of boredom...
recently finished the punisher, project snowblind and star wars republic commando.
currently installed...
brothers in arms (sucks imo), kotor2, and tribes vengeance.
about tribes, it's a cheap game now ($20) and it's amazingly fun.

I am still trying to finish doom 3.
have to restart half life 2.
my favorite game that I am still playing is
Battlefield Vietnam. I love flying the helicopters. I consider myself a half way top notch pilot. wished I had high speed internet to play on line. 56k sucks.
Vietcong I still play on line with my brother and a few other friends at times. does ok on 56k.
once in a while, I start up morrowind with all the expansions installed. and play it again. its still one of my all time favorits.
I am still waiting on the new morrowind to come out. looks like it will not be out till the end of this year.
and I do like to play driving games. need for speed was allways a good to start up and drive.

friend of mine talked me into getting:
Act of War: Direct Action
its a RTS like command and conquer
out by atari, and supposedly from some guys who used to work for EA over @ westwood
its $40 this week @ best buy
its pretty cool, there might be a demo that you all can check out if you dont want to directly shell out the $40 to try it
and as most ppl know i picked up quake the other day on ebay, so ive got that to play (again)
and then im still working on Republic Commando on the Xbox; im on the 4th mission (dont know how many there are)

My brother bought Star Wars Galaxies the other day along with the Jump to Lightspeed expansion, so I've been playing that the last few days. I realize that the game has been out for a year now... but I'm addicted so far lol.

I'm addicted so far
thats the problem w/ the never ending mmorpg gametype
especially when your trying to play other games, watch movies, have a psuedo social life, and go for a major in architecture
oh yea, and read books

Yer Freon im also full on into "Act of war" its a pretty cool game and as you say simular to C&C Generals. I do like the full-on cutscenes and i imagine that it would have taken the developers quite some time and intelligence to piece it alltogether. Its a massive install at over 5GB but its well worth it, and BTW there is indeed a demo out, as i dloaded it about a month ago.
cheers :) :)

started Act of War yesterday MrJ, seems like a VERY nice game, not far in but really enjoying so far. very similar to gens in control and feel, one thing though pity you can't rebind the keys, i'd like to control the squad from a row of keys close together i find a lot of the time i'm stretching my hand across the keyboard to dive on the ground or hide behind a car commands etc

yea, thats true, you could always email and b1tch them about it
i havent gotten into all the keyboard shortcuts yet - still using the mouse and my old ctrl+number for grouping; havent started the single player yet, and most of the multiplayer are short matches where i grab 3 oil sites, then do a bridge block w/ some turrets and sand bags and then build a couple of nukes and b2-bombers and just start bombing other oil sites rather htan actually making a ground force... im such a bastard - muhaha

one thing i have noticed is some poor spelling on the ingame GUI ( i know i have no life) i have so far seen 2 spelling mistakes, nmanned i take it is spose to be unmanned and hevay is spose to be heavy (as in mortars)
I also gota ask, is the only way to make money (i have only played the single player portion so far) from capturing injured POWs and by building oil dereks on a oil deposit? or is there like hackers or something that will continually make me money during the game ? i always seem to be running out of dosh.
cheers :) :)

thats all the money i have made in both the single and multiplayer; though there is always the upgrade for the oil-well that allows for pretty much double the output from the same site before it becomes 'dry'
there is something you can buy/upgrade when you select your primary base building - some political propaganda machine that allows you to make more money - but i havent taken the time to see if that actually makes more money or quicker.
as for the spelling, i havent noticed it - but ill keep an eye out for it; i was informed today that you cant play the terrorists in the single player game - which i think is kinda slack - but i guess they couldnt fit all the videos on the dvd for that also (SLACK) and maybe they will make a expansion that will allow you to do such
